TCN’s Virtual Croatia – an innovative free promotion of Croatian tourism during the coronavirus pandemic

first_imgWith the desire to attract as many tourists as possible to Croatia in this uncertain period of the pandemic this season as well, the famous Croatian blogger Paul Bradbury has launched a campaign Virtual Croatia, a project that brings together local tourist boards in one place with the aim of virtually promoting domestic destinations now, to later turn them into actual visits during the season. The most widely read Croatian portal in English, Total Croatia News, allows tourists to explore our beautiful country from the comfort of their home and plan in advance which locations they will visit soon, thus joining tourist destinations around the world devising new business strategies facing the new reality of coronavirus. The owner of the portal, whose texts are read by more than three million users a year, believes that there is no time to lose. “Local tourist boards know their destinations best and have promotional materials available, and with the support of Total Croatia News, Croatian destinations will tour the world. Little by little, I think we could do a lot together for this, as yet uncertain, tourist season“, Says Bradbury. Photo: Vivian Grisogono Anyone interested can send their materials by e-mail, called Virtual Croatia and add the name of the destination (for example Virtual Croatia Split) with links to all available online materials. Trenutačno imamo prilike vidjeti mnoge turističke kampanje diljem svijeta, koje prikazuju primamljive destinacije uz poruke poput Ostanite kod kuće, putujte kasnije. Takve su poruke sasvim razumne i dobrodošle, no ne daju onaj dodatni impuls koji stvara stvarnu želju za putovanjem” says Bradbury.center_img Paul Bradbury invites all local tourist boards to join him and send him all the online promotional materials and stories about their destinations, and he will publish them completely free of charge on his portal and so present the best of our country to tourists around the world. These stories can then be shared through all the channels available to tourist boards. The campaign is designed as a series of articles on destinations throughout Croatia, which will provide future tourists with more information about a particular location, but also the opportunity to virtually explore and fall in love with it, until they can travel again. Two articles have already been published, promoting virtual tours and visit planning Zagreb i Hvar Total Croatia News – najčitaniji hrvatski portal s vijestima na engleskom jeziku ponovno postavlja trendove u turističkoj promociji naše zemlje i kroz svoju Virtualnu Hrvatsku nudi svim turističkim zajednicama besplatnu platformu kojom dosežu desetke tisuća posjetitelja dnevno. Paul Bradbury is an Irish writer and blogger who has lived in Croatia since 2002. He is the winner of the FIJET Marco Polo tourist journalism award in 2014 and runs and edits the largest and most visited Croatian news portal in English, Total Croatia News, which carries the adjective “The most reliable source of information on Croatian destinations in the world”. Numerous domestic experts and analysts write for the portal, and its success is evidenced by the fact that it is used as a source of news from Croatia by many reputable world media such as the Huff Post, Washington Post, Guardian, Independent, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Die Zeit, New Scientist, Herald, Lonely Planet News and many others. “You must play better for the fans”- Maxwell Konadu tells Kotoko fringe players

first_imgAsante Kotoko head coach, Maxwell Konadu, has criticised the team’s fringe players and has called on them to improve so they are beneficial to the team.Konadu was speaking after their Week 10 goalless draw with AshGold at the Baba Yara Stadium last Sunday and said that the stand-ins for the likes of Justice Blay and Mudasiru Salifu were below par and did not meet his expectations.Ahead of their tie at Aduana Stars on Wednesday in Week 11 of the Ghana Premier League, Konadu is calling on the squad players to give a lot more for the fans of the team.“When you have some of the best players in your team out of action due to injuries and minor illness, it is a problem.Even though we registered 30 players, there are no doubts over who your best players are and that is a fact. Everybody can play but other players do far better than the other ones.It is just that against AshGold, the replacements did their best but it was not enough. I told them and perhaps, I was a bit harsh on them.We have to go back and hit the ground running and get things going properly. We have to do better than what we did against AshGold. The fans deserve something way better than this.”After Konadu’s call on the players, they will be expected to give a good account of themselves against Aduana Stars especially as the return of Justice Blay is not assured.Ill health ruled him out of the goalless draw with AshGold and the indications are that he will be looked at by the team’s medics before a decision is taken on his availability to the team.last_img read more
